Queer Approaches to Lena Platonos was an event which ventured a series of queer readings of Platonos' work. Space Manifesto participated in four acts of the show including a lip-sync performance and a spoken word act. 
 

In further detail, Space Manifesto lip-synced "I Lathos Agapi (Wrong Love)" by Lena Platonos' revolutionary mid-80s album "Gallop". The lip-sync performance happened as part of Filtig's live presentation of his cover version of the song.

 

Later in the show, Space performed live her cover version of "Erotes to Kalokairi (Love in Summer)" by the same album. This cover was written by Space and Alexandros Drosos and produced by Alexandros. We  incorporated sound elements used to make commentary on the power of dating apps and their importance for queer people's everyday life and search for love. Both acts were accompanied by video work of Anastasia Diavasti.

The event was coproduced by the alternative stage of the Greek National Opera and Atopos CVC as part of the #TextMe_Lab project and the Athens Municipality-run “Athens 2018 World Book Capital” project.
