Wet Dreams of Revenge
Play (2023)

Wet Dreams of Revenge is an exploration of young adulthood and queer rage, as well as a request
for love, forgiveness and acceptance. Through a collage of dreams and realities, pop icons like Lana Del Rey and characters like Ophelia meet Thanos, as a working-class drag queen in Athens, and together they shape fantasies regarding fatherhood, relationships and patriarchy. The three of them fight ghosts, cops, ex-boyfriends and any other men that have caused them pain.

As the play goes on things get blurry though. Different styles, different time periods, humour and trauma all merge. Are these Thanos’ wet dreams? Or are they his father’s nightmares?

Fragments of the play were presented in a form of a snippet performance at Theater Oberhausen (April 2023), Germany. Thanos collaborated with Niko Eleftheriadis (as an outside eye/director) for the performance.

Wet Dreams of Revenge is a play written within the frame of "New Stages South East" a program organised by the Goethe Institute and under the mentorship of Jens Hillje and Prodromos Tsinikoris.

Photos of the performance are shot by Lukas Diller
